St. James Preschool Program was developed to awaken a desire for knowledge while encouraging exploration and creativity in the young learner. A warm, caring environment is provided to facilitate opportunities in all areas of growth and development. Staff fosters an atmosphere of kindness and Christian values to enhance independence and cooperation.

 A 3 year old program focused on social skills, cooperative play, manners, clear self-expression, development of fine and gross motor skills and enhancement of self-esteem through hands-on exploration.  A 4 and 5 year old program is designed for those children preparing to enter kindergarten the following year. The preK incorporates all aspects of our curriculum and serves as the building block for the Saint  James kindergarten program. Our concentration covers these areas - personal & social development, early language & literacy, mathematics, religion, creative arts, health, science and social studies.  Some of our enrichment activities include music, art, physical education, library, French and cooking,  which are led by the certified teachers of  Saint James School.  Students also join others at school wide events.  

We offer half-day and full-day sessions along with extended care.  Parents may choose 2, 3, 4 or 5 days per week.  Flexible scheduling and additional before and after care options are also available.  See below for the rates for the 2024-25 school year and we have ongoing enrollment.  

Saint James School follows a preschool readiness curriculum, which is included below.  If a student's needs cannot be met, our preschool teacher will meet with upper level teachers to create a plan for that student.  Our preschool teacher meets with our kindergarten teacher on a regular basis throughout the school year.
